Description
The Black Pearl Oyster or Black Pearl King Oyster is a very unique gourmet mushroom in the genus Pleurotus. It’s exact origin is kind of obscure, although it is said to be the hybrid result of cross breeding Asian and European strains of Pleurotus ostreatus. Colonizes quickly and primordia formation is similar to a King Oyster [P. eyrngii]. In maturity it begins to resemble typical Pleurotus ostreatus. Black Pearl Kings are less temperamental than Pleurotus eryngii, and are fairly easy to grow indoor on supplemented hardwood sawdust.
