.22µm Syringe Filters (13mm)

These .22µm PTFE syringe filters have become part of the industry standard for liquid culture jar lids but some growers use them as spawn jar filters as well. They offer unparalleled protection against contaminants and minimal air/gas exchange for the most sensitive projects. If your lab and/or grow space are less than ideal, this may be your best option for preventing contamination, especially when paired with our Self-Healing Injection Ports.

May also be used to mechanically sterilize small amounts of liquid by attaching to a luer-lock syringe and forcing liquid though the membrane.

  • Make your own lids!
  • Hydrophobic PTFE with Polypropylene housing
  • Autoclavable & reusable
  • Perfect for Liquid Culture or Grain Spawn Jar Lids

Description

The main scientific purpose of these filters is to mechanically sterilize a liquid by attaching to a luer-lock syringe and forcing liquid thru the membrane but in the cultivation community they’ve become the gold standard for filtered air/gas exchange on Liquid Culture or Spawn jar lids. Each size and membrane material has it’s own unique properties.

These 13mm diameter .22µm syringe filters are made with a hydrophobic internal filter membrane (PTFE) and polypropylene housing. They are fully autoclavable and reusable unless liquid comes into contact with the internal membrane. Mostly used for liquid culture jar lids due to the enclosed and hydrophobic nature of the filter membrane but can be used anywhere an extra layer of protection and minimal air/gas exchange is desired.

If you’re serious about Liquid Culture / Liquid Inoculant or just want to be sure your projects have the highest level of protection possible, these syringe filters are a necessity.

Also great for less than ideal workspace environments (home kitchens, basements, closets or warehouses).
