Injection Port Media Lids

Description

These lids are a MUST for any serious mycologist. Constructed with high-quality, heavy-duty materials, these lids can withstand many, many uses. Available in Polypropylene (PP5) or Tinplate Steel (standard canning lids) .

While the standard Tinplate lids will withstand several autoclave cycles, even with great care they will eventually need to be replaced due to corrosion and degradation. Typically, The rubber seals will be the first thing to go on Tinplate lids.

The PP5 lids are reusable indefinitely with proper care (which makes them our choice for sustainable lids by a long shot!) – simply replace the syringe filter and/or injection port with new hardware from the store

NOTE:

Both injection port options are made from high-quality, pharmaceutical-grade rubber and can withstand many sterilization cycles and repeated punctures while retaining the self-sealing quality in accordance is USP 381 standards. The type labelled “Heavy-Duty” has basically become the industry standard and is most familiar to cultivators, but they’re both subject to the same USP standard for “Elastomeric Closures for Injections“

We offer a few different configuration options so you can customize them to your specific needs:

• Air/gas exchange hole size: 1/8″, 1/4″ or 3/8″
• Injection port: Standard (13mm) or Heavy-Duty (1/2″)
• Filtration: Adhesive Filter Disc,  Syringe Filter [90mm Cellulose Filter Discs COMING SOON!]

Platinum-cured silicone seals are optional for the PP5 lids. We suggest using them with liquid media or long-term storage but find them mostly unnecessary for grain jars that will be used right away.
